Schedule Details

Day 2: Kampala – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, You will be picked up by our drive guide who will transfer you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only rhino sanctuary. Embark on a walking safari to track rhinos, witnessing these magnificent creatures up close in their protected environment, a rare and exciting encounter. Continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, arriving in time to settle into your lodge. Along the way, marvel at the rolling savannahs and picturesque landscapes.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive, when animals are most active. Spot elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and a wide variety of antelopes, while your guide explains fascinating facts about each species. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge with immense power, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Keep your eyes on the riverbanks for hippos, crocodiles, and numerous water birds. For the adventurous, an optional hike to the top of the falls rewards you with panoramic views of the river and surrounding wilderness, a perfect spot for photography and awe-inspiring memories.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive south through Uganda’s beautiful countryside and small towns to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its primate diversity. Upon arrival at your lodge, take some time to relax and enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings. In the evening, embark on a guided walk through the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can explore papyrus swamps, spot birds, butterflies, and small forest animals, and enjoy the serene atmosphere of this unique ecosystem. This walk also offers a chance to interact with local communities and learn about their crafts and daily life, making for a memorable introduction to the region.

Day 5 : Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Community Walk

After an early breakfast at your lodge, rise and prepare for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by an experienced guide, trek through the dense, misty rainforest, listening to the calls of the forest and spotting playful chimpanzees, other monkey species, and a variety of exotic birds. Along the trail, discover unique plant species, giant trees, and the rich biodiversity that makes Kibale one of Africa’s premier primate habitats.

In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi community for a guided community walk through papyrus swamps and tropical forest. Along the way, engage with local communities, learn about their traditions, and observe traditional crafts. You will also enjoy coffee tours, experiencing how local coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and take a refreshing break with fresh banana juice from local plantations. The combination of wildlife, nature, culture, and local flavors makes this an immersive and memorable experience.

Day 6: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park & Evening Game Drive

After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most famous wildlife destinations, renowned for its rich diversity of animals and breathtaking landscapes. Upon arrival, embark on an evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains, a prime area for spotting wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants grazing, lions lounging in the tall grass, buffaloes roaming, leopards stealthily moving, and Uganda kob leaping across the savannah. The late afternoon light casts a golden glow over the park, creating the perfect setting for photography and wildlife observation. As the sun sets, watch the African savannah come alive with the sounds and movements of the wild, before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, when wildlife is most active. Spot elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kob, and other savannah animals as they roam the park’s scenic Kasenyi plains. Your expert guide will share fascinating insights into the animals’ behaviors and habitats, making the drive both thrilling and educational.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a picturesque waterway linking Lake George and Lake Edward. This channel is renowned for its dense populations of hippos and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of waterbirds, including kingfishers, fish eagles, herons, and pelicans. The calm waters provide excellent opportunities for photography, allowing you to capture wildlife as it gathers along the riverbanks. The cruise offers a unique perspective of the park’s ecosystem and a relaxing way to experience Uganda’s wildlife up close before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, set through the Ishasha sector, renowned for its tree-climbing lions, a truly rare and thrilling sight. Keep your cameras ready as you drive through the scenic savannahs, where lions can sometimes be spotted lounging in the branches of acacia trees. Continue your journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Africa’s most biologically diverse forests. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge, surrounded by mist-covered hills and dense rainforest, setting the perfect stage for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Enjoy the peaceful forest sounds, fresh mountain air, and stunning views, making for a serene and memorable evening.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking, Batwa Community Visit

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Witnessing the rare and endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. Half of the world’s population of these gentle giants lives under the mist-covered canopies of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest.

In the company of an experienced ranger guide, you will track one of the habituated gorilla families. Depending on their movement, the trek can take between 2 to 7 hours. Once you locate the gorillas, spend a magical hour observing their fascinating behaviors, social interactions, and mannerisms that so closely resemble our own.

 

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a Batwa community visit, where you will meet the indigenous forest dwellers. Learn about their rich culture, traditional dances, and unique lifestyle that has thrived in harmony with the forest for generations.

Day 10: Return to Kampala or Airport

After breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will begin your scenic drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your departure flight.

The journey takes approximately 8–10 hours, passing through beautiful rolling hills, rural villages, and terraced farmlands. Along the way, you may have:

  • A lunch stop in Mbarara
  • A photo stop at the Uganda Equator crossing
  • Short refreshment breaks as needed

Your driver-guide will drop you either at your hotel in Kampala (if staying overnight) or directly at Entebbe International Airport in time for your flight.

This marks the end of your unforgettable Uganda safari adventure.
