25 Day Historical sites, Cultural and Wildlife Safari
Overview
This 25-day Uganda safari offers an exciting mix of history, culture, and wildlife. Upon arrival in Entebbe, the adventure begins. Historical sites in Entebbe will be explored. Then, you’ll travel to Jinja, where Itanda Falls will be visited. The Source of the Nile and local markets in Jinja will be explored next.
You’ll continue to Sipi Falls, stopping to view the ancient Nyero rock paintings. Hikes around the falls will offer stunning views of Mount Elgon. The journey will then head to Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, followed by a transfer to Moroto, where the culture of the Karamojong will be experienced.
In Kidepo Valley National Park, nature walks and game drives will be conducted. A visit to the Ik community will provide insight into local traditions. Afterward, the tour continues to Gulu, with a stop at the historic Fort Patiko.
Next, Murchison Falls National Park will be reached. Here, game drives and a hike to the top of the falls will be enjoyed. In Kibale Forest, chimpanzee trekking will take place. The day will continue with a walk in Bigodi Swamp and a visit to a local community.
Afterward, Semuliki’s hot springs and a pygmy community will be explored. The journey continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for lion tracking and a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. A coffee tour will then be taken before heading to Bwindi for gorilla trekking and cultural experiences.
Finally, Lake Mburo National Park will be visited. A nature walk and game drive will conclude the safari. The tour will end with birding at Mabamba Swamp and a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens before departure.
